How to install Decal Designer

Decal Designer requires the Free Substance plugin - Download here from the Unreal Marketplace

Install the Substance Plugin to your engine from the Epic Games Launcher

UnrealEngine>Library>Substance in Unreal Engine>Install to Engine

Once the Substance plugin is installed to your current engine version and you have purchased Decal Designer you will see it in your Library. Use "Add to Project" from the Epic Games Launcher Unreal Library to install Decal Designer in your Unreal Project

Alternatively copy the local Decal Designer Unreal content folder to the content folder of a project of your choice.

Decal Designer is compatible with Unreal Engine v4.27 - v5.1 and any newer versions of Unreal Engine supported by the Substance plugin. If you upgrade Unreal to a version not supported by the Substance plugin your Decal Designer textures and library of materials will be unaffected, however you will be unable to edit the textures with Decal Designer until the Substance plugin has been updated for use with your current engine version. Please see the Substance plugin store page for a complete list of Unreal Engine version compatibility. For reference, the Substance plugin is usually updated approximately 1-2 weeks after a new Unreal Engine version release.

The Substance Plugin is used to generate standard Unreal Engine UTexture assets in your Content Browser.

The Mixer, volume scattering and automated material creation require the Editor Scripting Utilities plugin to be active

Go to Edit>Plugins and search for "script" and enable Editor Scripting Utilities which comes with Unreal Engine as standard
