Decal Designer is procedural, so all of the Decals can be reduced to a simple few lines of text. This is stored as a Preset.

Presets are really useful for either quickly loading up as an Import, or if you want to Export out your current mix. They can be used as a quick starting point for variants or complimentary Decals for already existing sets in your Library

Make a Preset

  1. Open a Graph Instance

  2. Adjust the parameters to your liking

  3. Press Export preset

Import a Preset

  1. Open a Graph Instance

  2. Press Import preset

Only parameters which have been changed from the Default values will be exported in the Preset file. This can lead to slightly unexpected results if you current graph is not in the default state when importing, but this behaviour is useful by design. For example a Preset which affects how a surface looks (e.g one which makes your Decal look like Oil) can be applied without affecting all of your other parameter selections of your current session such as Pattern choice etc. Preset files can also be edited with a simple text editor to remove unwanted parameters.

All of the supplied examples of the are also available as preset files to be easily loaded into your current session as a starting point. These presets are located in the local Content\DecalDesigner\Presets\ folder of your content directory
